Dr Tariq Mahmood is a dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to individuals and families across all stages of life. He values the continuity of care that general practice offers and supports patients with both acute health concerns and long-term wellbeing through evidence-based medicine.
Dr Mahmood grew up in Pakistan and studied medicine in Eastern Europe before moving to Australia after graduation. He gained broad clinical experience working as a junior doctor across a range of hospital departments. During this time, he completed rotations in North Queensland and undertook further training in Emergency Medicine at hospitals in Western Sydney. These experiences provided a strong clinical foundation before he chose to pursue a career as a Family GP.
Dr Mahmood completed his General Practice training in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, with additional training in Western Australia. He enjoys the variety that general practice provides and the opportunity to support patients through different stages of their health journey. His clinical approach focuses on preventative health, chronic disease management, and helping patients make informed decisions about their health. Dr Mahmood also has a particular interest in mental health care, Indigenous health, and skin cancer medicine including skin checks and management of skin lesions.
Outside of medicine, Dr Mahmood enjoys staying active through tennis, karate, and badminton.
